The Craft of a Blacksmith
What you need to know in advance is that the profession of blacksmith has not existed as a specific title in Germany since 1989. However, the craft of a metalworker, as they are now called, is still a highly sought-after profession. Nevertheless, only a few people practice it in this form. One might compare it to a sculptor, except that the blacksmith uses iron instead of stone.
Due to globalization, the craft has unfortunately fallen into disrepute. Many iron parts are purchased from Asia and incorporated into a project. Yet, these are often sold as unique pieces. What stands out is that you can notice it if you look closely. For example, you might recognize it in a fence, particularly at the transition between the bars and the fence top, where the connection is often not clean and is made mechanically.
Still, the craftsmanship shines through in its creativity, making each piece something special.

The process always begins with planning. Measuring, framework construction, and a visual concept are key here. As a blacksmith workshop, we plan and design your wish down to the finest detail. It’s essential to consider each individual element and its connectors to fully integrate the design. You need an expert who can help you create the design.
